Refund and Cancellation Policy
Version 1.0 · Last updated: July 11, 2026
1. Scope
This Policy applies to purchases, renewals, upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, and refunds of paid OffloadPro subscriptions. OffloadPro and offloadpro.io are operated by 18055441 Canada Inc. ("OffloadPro," "we," "us," or "our"). This Policy supplements the End User License Agreement and the Terms of Service; billing-specific statements at checkout control for the specific transaction. Nothing in this Policy limits non-waivable rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.
2. Paddle as Merchant of Record
Paid subscriptions are sold by Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle processes payment, applies and remits applicable taxes (such as GST/HST, VAT, or sales tax), issues invoices and receipts, and handles payment-network compliance. Refund requests are fulfilled through Paddle. If this Policy conflicts with Paddle's applicable buyer terms or with mandatory consumer law for a given transaction, those control for that transaction.
3. Try before you buy
The Free plan is available without payment details and does not expire. Each paid tier offers a 14-day trial without payment details. Trials do not auto-convert into paid subscriptions: when a trial ends, the software reverts to Free plan behavior unless you purchase.
Because full evaluation is available before purchase, we ask — but do not require — that refund requests include a short note about what did not work for you. It helps us fix real problems.
4. Refunds
Window. You may request a refund within fourteen (14) days of the initial purchase date or, for subscriptions, within fourteen (14) days of the most recent renewal charge.
How to request. Use the refund link on your Paddle receipt, contact Paddle support via the link on your invoice, or email billing@offloadpro.io with your order number and we will route the request to Paddle.
Processing. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method, in the original transaction currency, including any tax collected, normally within 5–10 business days of approval (bank posting times vary). When a refund is issued, the associated license or subscription period is cancelled and paid features revert to Free plan behavior.
Outside the window. Requests outside the 14-day window are not eligible except where required by applicable consumer law or approved by us in our discretion for exceptional circumstances (for example, verified double-billing).
Abuse. We and Paddle may decline refunds where there are objective indications of abuse, including repeated purchase-refund cycles, redemption-value extraction from promotional codes, chargeback fraud, or use that breaches the EULA. We will not use this paragraph to defeat legitimate first-time refund requests.
5. Cancellation
You may cancel a subscription at any time from the account portal or via the cancellation link on your Paddle receipt. On cancellation, no further renewal charges are made. Paid features remain active until the end of the current billing period, after which the software reverts to Free plan behavior at the next entitlement refresh.
Cancellation does not itself trigger a refund for the current period; Section 4 governs refunds. Your registry, transfer history, asset index, and other local data remain intact on your machine regardless of cancellation.
6. Renewals
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) until cancelled. For annual subscriptions, Paddle or we will send a reminder before renewal where required by applicable law (and as a courtesy elsewhere). Renewal charges use the then-current price for your plan; price changes are notified in advance and apply from the next renewal.
7. Upgrades, downgrades, and plan changes
- Upgrades take effect immediately; the price difference is prorated by Paddle for the remainder of the current billing period unless stated otherwise at checkout.
- Downgrades take effect at the next renewal. Features exclusive to the higher tier stop being available when the downgrade takes effect; data created with those features remains in your local installation.
- Switching between monthly and annual billing takes effect at the next renewal unless Paddle checkout offers an immediate prorated switch.
8. Educational and non-profit discounts
Discounted subscriptions (for verified educational institutions, documentary non-profits, and student journalists) follow this same Policy. Discount eligibility may be re-verified at renewal; if eligibility lapses, the subscription renews at the standard price with advance notice.
9. Promotional and courtesy licenses
Promotional codes and courtesy licenses have no cash value, are not refundable or redeemable for money, and may carry their own expiry dates and terms. This Policy's refund provisions apply only to amounts actually paid.
10. Chargebacks and payment disputes
If a payment is reversed, disputed, or charged back, the associated license may be suspended pending resolution. Please contact billing@offloadpro.io or Paddle before initiating a chargeback — most billing issues are resolved faster through the refund process above.
11. Statutory rights
If the consumer protection law of your jurisdiction gives you a longer or different cancellation or refund right (for example, statutory withdrawal rights in the European Union or United Kingdom for digital purchases, to the extent applicable and not lawfully waived at checkout), that law prevails over this Policy. Paddle's checkout flow implements jurisdiction-specific consent and withdrawal mechanics.
