Does OffloadPro upload my media to the cloud?
No. OffloadPro runs entirely in your local installation - the app, its database, its asset index, all of it. License activation is the only thing that touches our servers.
How does licensing work?
Activation is the same across all tiers and applies to one installation at a time. If you need OffloadPro on another installation, you add another activation. The feature tiers differ, but the activation rule stays consistent.
What counts as an activated install?
The local OffloadPro installation running under an active entitlement. You can deactivate it and move that entitlement to a different installation when needed, but only one installation is active at a time.
What's a "registered device"?
A card or drive you've added to the registry - with a label, serial, type, and history. Anonymous mounts that you offload from once and never register don't count toward the Free or Creator device limits.
Can I upgrade without losing data?
Yes. Your registry, project structure, transfer history, and asset index all carry forward untouched. Features like routing channels and backup fan-out simply switch on the moment you upgrade.
Do you offer educational or non-profit pricing?
Yes - 50% off Creator and Team for verified educational institutions, documentary non-profits, and student journalists. Email support with proof of status.
Why isn't format preflight in the Free plan?
Preflight is only meaningful when OffloadPro is tracking your whole workflow - inventory, project storage, and backups - and Free doesn't include backups or the asset index that validation runs against. Verified copying is free forever; the safe-wipe workflow is what the paid tiers are for.
What happens if I cancel a paid plan?
Your data stays in your local installation. The application drops back to Free behavior at renewal time - your registry, history, and asset index remain intact, but automation, backups, the asset library, and format preflight pause until you reactivate.
